Annual Financial Statements

The Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring that adequate accounting records are maintained and for the preparation, integrity and fair presentation of the Annual Financial Statements of Platinum Health Medical Scheme (PHMS). The Medical Schemes Act provides for audited Annual Financial Statements together with the Board of Trustees Report to be submitted to the Council for Medical Schemes within four months after the end of a financial year.

An Annual General Meeting must be held no later than 30 June of each year where the Annual Financial Statements, Auditors Report as well as Board of Trustee Report needs to be tabled before the meeting for approval by the members.

The Annual Financial Statements have been prepared in accordance with the Medical Schemes Act 131 of 1998, and the Scheme’s external auditors, Ernst and Young have audited the Annual Financial Statements as at 31 December 2020 and issued an unqualified Audit Report.
